‘Intuitions et Poèmes d’Ailleurs’ is a contemporary French language poetry paperback book with over 120 pages including an italian translation and monochromatic illustrations. The cover artwork is also available as a 75x90cm high quality canvas print.

This exhibition set was originally created in 2002 for the Farm ‘Religion’ Expo where the piece aroused quite an interest from various national and international art magazines. The idea of TrinityBank was to create a brand identity and advertising materials that would lead you to believe that the church system was in fact a hypothetical bank that people invested in to reassure themselves a place in the afterlife.

Now, in 2010, TrinityBank has been updated as the curators of Farm have established a cultural park and have dedicated a space for TrinityBank as a permanent exhibition piece which will go live from the 23rd October.

Prima di iniziare a parlare del tuo intervento a Farm Cultural Park, vorrei sapere le tue emozioni nel vedere questa realtà assolutamente nuova dalle nostre parti.
Conosco Andrea Bartoli e la sua passione per l’arte contemporanea da diversi anni ormai e so che solo lui era in grado di fare una cosa simile e sono molto fiero di esserne parte.
E’ veramente fantastico e inimmaginabile nello stesso tempo trovare una cosa simile costruita in un posto del genere attorno la gente del posto, ma è anche molto piacevole vedere come hanno abbracciato l’iniziativa e come vengono quasi incorporati nelle opere del parco. Era ora che qualcuno desse la giusta importanza all’arte contemporanea qui in Sicilia perché in giro ci sono miriadi di artisti con grandi innovazioni, talenti e idee, ma finora con poco sbocco. Spero, sinceramente, che l’iniziativa continui ad espandersi anche al di là di Favara, anche attraverso altri comuni.

Parliamo di Trinity Bank, la banca speciale di Farm. È un progetto pensato appositamente per Farm o l’hai semplicemente dato alla struttura?
E’ sempre stato un progetto ideato appositamente per Farm, ma originariamente per una mostra ideata da Andrea presso la sua struttura Farm a Butera nel 2002, intitolata Farm Religion. Oggi è stato revisionato e aggiornato per essere parte permanente del nuovo Farm Cultural Park di Favara.

Cosa l’ha ispirato e cosa intendi trasmettere? Ti lancio una provocazione: io vedo l’ipocrisia divertente di tante promesse in cambio di qualcosa, non un puro riferimento a chiesa o religione.
Si, hai capito l’idea in generale, non sono solo riferimenti puramente alla chiesa, ma alla vita in generale: si dà per avere, investire ora per trovarsi meglio nel futuro, per esempio, come facciamo tutti con i nostri soldi in qualsiasi banca. Quindi questa linea di pensiero si adatta molto alla filosofia delle religioni in generale che funzionano in modo simile. Se ci si comporta secondo le regole di ciò che si crede o si segue allora tutto andrà bene e il tuo posto in paradiso sarà riservato, altrimenti andrai all’inferno e ti troverai male, cioè un investimento, e così la chiesa diventa una banca. Pensando a questo ho voluto creare qualcosa di ironico e umoristico che nello stesso tempo fa riflettere.

Parliamo della tua attività. Sei un creativo, un artista tuttofare, impieghi vari mezzi e ti esprimi con modalità differenti. Cosa preferisci?
Essendo un grafico di professione il mezzo più ovvio per me è il computer, internet, l’interattività, la fotografia e soprattutto la stampa. Mi piacciono le immagini statiche in particolare, ma ultimamente mi sto dirigendo verso l’animazione e vorrei sfruttare il film come mezzo che, secondo me, offre un media completo, incorporando tutto quello che ho detto.

In generale, da cosa trai spunto per le tue opere? Sono frutto di riflessioni tratte da osservazioni del mondo, dalla vita quotidiana o nascono anche per caso?
Credo che la maggior parte delle opere nascono per caso da un insieme da tutti questi spunti menzionati nella domanda, ogni volta è sempre diversa.

I tuoi progetti futuri e quelli con Farm. Cosa pensi di realizzare?
Ce ne sono di progetti, è il tempo che manca! Attualmente sto lavorando su diversi progetti musicale, di animazione e letterari, ma nel futuro mi piacerebbe creare qualcosa di nuovo appositamente per Farm Cultural Park, tipo un…
